THC has long been used therapeutically
- for treating nerve pain (neuropathic pain) and
- muscle spasticity;
a combination of THC and cannabidiol (CBD) is used
- to increase appetite in cancer patients
- or underweight AIDS patients
- to treat severe nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy, and also
- to reduce muscle spasticity.
In addition, pure cannabidiol has recently been used to treat very rare but difficult-to-treat childhood epilepsy.
